SUMMARY:
The study proposes the organization, from a catalogue, of the woodcuts of the Laboratory of
Information Science and Memory (LACIM) contributing to the memorialistic representation of
that laboratory. Its main objective is: to propose the organization of woodcuts from the LACIM
collection, systematizing their custody, in order to contribute to the memorialistic representation
of the Cariri Cearense Region, ensuring ease of access and search for research on the subject. As
a methodology will be used in the research is the Document Analysis (AD) that allows the
identification of data in documents (woodcuts) their physical characteristics and content with
descriptive purpose of the existing elements. In the theoretical framework, a parallel is drawn
between the concept of social representations and the characteristics and meanings that are
attributed to the elements that form the space in which they are inserted, the importance of their
symbologies, the construction of identity, the feeling of belonging that is appropriated of the
actors involved. It presents the history of woodcuts and its importance for the Cariri region. I
concluded with the proposals of analysis in the woodcuts for the proposal of a memorial catalog
- informational legacy conducive to the efficient and effective archival process of keeping,
researching and retrieving informatio.
