RESUMO:

From our work in the field of photography and the observation of the activities carried
out in this area in the Cariri Region, we have sensitized us to the lack of visibility of the
woman photographers in the territory, either as authors and curators of exhibitions or
lectures in courses, events, collectives, projects and groups. What has mobilized us to
think about the gender relations that are inserted in the "being a female photographer".
The general objective of this master's research is to report the experience of the First
Exhibition of Women Photographers of Cariri as a space for reconstruction of the
memory of the photographic production of artists of the territory. We established
specific objectives as follows: To carry out a bibliographical review about the relation
between photography and memory and of the gender discussions related to the theme;
propose a systematization of the works exhibited in the Mostra by subjects and 

photographic genre and, finally, contribute with a mapping of the production of women
photographers.
In order to reach our objectives, we hope to be able to make visible the women's action
in photography in the Region, bringing as a product proposal the development of a
book, bringing profiles of the photographers and the works exhibited at the First
Exhibition of Women Photographers of Cariri, held in Juazeiro do Norte in 2018.
