SCIENTIFIC COLLABORATION IN COMMUNICATION RESEARCH GROUPS AT THE FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF PIAUÍ (UFPI): an analysis of co-authoring networks in journal articles.

Scientific collaboration is the target of this study and has the general objective of: Understanding a
scientific production and cooperative social relations of researchers
research groups in the Communication area at the Federal University of Piauí (UFPI),
certified by the DGP, from 2014 to 2018. Specifically, it is intended:
Analyze published articles and scientific journals in the Communication area;
Map how researchers' cooperation networks and institutional collaboration;
Check the capillarity in scientific communications in international journals and
Develop a publication manual for scientific articles with suggestions for
Communication researchers. As a research methodology, we used a
Bibliometric Analysis and Social Network Analysis (ARS). Thus, a survey
it is an exploratory and descriptive study, with a qualitative approach. Beyond
In addition, calculate the density, centrality, intermediation and
proximity to the possibility of analyzing the structure of social networks formed by
investigated researchers. Through the study, verify if the majority of articles
were created in shared authorship, or that presupposes a trend in the
production of collaborative scientific knowledge. In addition, it was found that
social networks have low connectivity due to the presence of many
weak ties, as well as the existence of communities that form subgroups in the network,
that is, a presence of specific regions with a high degree of relational integration.
