School library. Reading Information services. Primer.

The library is an informational place, through access to the information offered by the school library, the user can acquire knowledge, therefore included in the school context. However, it is necessary for information to be accessible to everyone, enabling students to have autonomy in using their information services. However, it is necessary to carry out research regarding the services available in school libraries. In this sense, this study seeks to present theoretical-conceptual perceptions of information and reference services, as well as characteristics of school libraries at the organizational level. The problem to be answered in this research presents the following question: How does the alpha school library of the state public network in the city of Crato-Ceará encourage the reading of books? The research has the general objective: Investigating the performance of a school library through reading practice, aiming to build a website to encourage reading. And as specific objectives: discuss theoretical-practical aspects of reading in the context of the school library; discuss information mediation and propose a website as a product to encourage reading in school libraries. The methodology is characterized as a bibliographical research, linked to the meaning of the inductive method, with a qualitative approach, using an Analysis Tool as a research technique for data collection, which was developed by the research professor at UFBA, Marcos Palácios, in The format of the cards, for the purposes of this research, is descriptive. It is worth highlighting that libraries must promote actions that eliminate barriers that prevent access to information and knowledge. To achieve this, it is necessary for libraries to plan to adapt their services to serve the different users who frequent the unit, thus creating an informational environment suitable for everyone and, consequently, satisfying their needs. With this in mind, an Instructions website was created in this research, in which the main information services were selected: Home Loan, Collection Consultation, Guided Visit, Reference Service and Utility Information. Furthermore, these services can be implemented in an accessible way in school libraries, with the main objective of information inclusion for students.
