SUMMARY:

Accessibility is an issue of vital importance for building a society with the social participation of all. The present work seeks to verify the types of resources that university libraries make available or may come to offer for the access of People with Visual and Physical Disabilities. For that, this investigation aims to describe the physical infrastructure of university libraries; verify the informational accessibility of Libraries; observe the Assistive Technologies (AT) available; check the actions of libraries for inclusion of PwD on the institutions' website. This study was carried out in three Public University Libraries in Senhor do Bonfim-Ba. The method used was a multiple case study, which seeks to investigate a phenomenon, through observation script in libraries and bibliographic analysis. The survey revealed that there has been an evolution in the accessibility issue, although it is still insufficient to meet people with physical and visual disabilities in a comprehensive way, as highlighted by current norms and laws. Thus, what is currently seen in information units is that they allow access, but are not fully accessible.
