The construction of black female aesthetics from ethnic-racial information disseminated on YouTube

This study deals with the production, communication and use of ethnic-racial information transmitted on the YouTube platform, in channels about black beauty, with black women as protagonists. It is based on the assumption that historically black people and especially Black Women have been denied their history, their experiences, pains, joys, losses and gains. What has been recorded is from writings made by the look of the Settler that exposes them from their domineering gaze, placing them as only objectified, subservient and inferior beings. Here is exposed the trajectory of struggle of these Women still in the slave-owning period to contemporaneity, to what was denominated Black Feminism and the presence of information and communication technologies and the web, having as consequences the emergence of social networks, platforms of sharing of videos that have become a means of expression that attracts more and more black women to become protagonists, writers and YouTubers. Based on these premises, the present study has as general objective to analyze processes of production and use of ethnic-racial information in the construction of the black identity, focusing on the channels of black Youtubers, and as specific: it is intended to identify in the ethnic-racial information if there is a political position to confront racism in Brazil; outline the profile of the protagonist subjects; to elaborate a digital educational booklet on black aesthetics from the researched channels; discuss the role of information in the process of politicization and self-assertion of black identity; to verify if the informational procedures interfere in the process of transition of black women from the use of natural hair, curly, curly and also in the exercise of new forms of discourse on the racial theme. The methodology is supported by netnography, it has a qualitative perspective related to the social perspective and the black beauty vlogs of the YouTube platform define the field of research. Thus, this research seeks to identify the construction of a positive black female identity from the ethnic-racial information disseminated by the black beauty channels and still identifies them as a space of socialization and reference for Black Women.
