INFORMATIONAL AND DIGITAL SKILLS IN THE PRACTICE OF ACADEMIC LIBRARIES: PROPOSED TRAINING PROGRAM FOR PROFESSORS OF UPE CAMPUS PETROLINA

It presents the Information and Digital Competencies in the faculty training in the Stricto Sensu Postgraduate Courses of the UPE Campus Petrolina, based on a theoretical framework with evolutionary aspects of the university library as a learning environment and concepts of Digital Competence, Information Competence and Information and Digital Competence, in addition to mentioning the role of the librarian in the practices of development of Information and Digital Competence. In general, it investigates the needs of Informational and Digital Competencies of the teachers of the Stricto Sensu Postgraduate Courses of the UPE Campus Petrolina to support academic activities, aiming at the proposition of presenting a training program for teacher training, and specifically aiming at raising the characteristics of contemporary university libraries; To identify the fundamentals about Digital Competencies and their application capabilities; to know the profile of the professors of the Stricto Sensu Postgraduate Courses in the areas of Education, Health and Environment, regarding their formation related to Information and Digital Competencies; and to propose a guide for the development of a training program on Information and Digital Competencies to support the formation of teachers of the Postgraduate Courses of the institution. The research methodology is descriptive, bibliographic and case study, based on a qualitative approach, using a questionnaire with a plural script of open, closed and multiple choice questions as a data collection instrument. The inductive (by the researcher) and deductive (by statistics) analysis methods are used for data analysis and interpretation. It is expected that this research contributes to the continuity of discussions that permeate the promotion of educational actions by Brazilian university libraries, especially the practices of training on the development of Information and Digital Skills of university faculty.
