This research addresses the relevance of observatories for disseminating information inherent to violence against women, observing their role in the face of the worsening rates of violence and feminicide in Brazil in recent years. The research's general objective is to: Analyze the relevance of the Laboratory of Violence against Women (Observem) at the State University of Ceará (UECE) for the dissemination of information inherent to violence against women. To achieve this objective, the following specific objectives were outlined: a) reflect on the historicity of violence against women in Brazil b) identify the main observatories of violence against women created in recent years; c) analyze the operating methodologies of the Violence Against Women Laboratory (Observem) in their specificities, pointing out their potential for using information to combat violence against women in Brazil. To materialize these, exploratory, descriptive and bibliographic research was used methodologically with a quantitative and qualitative approach. Throughout the study, it was possible to perceive the importance of the data organized by observem for developing public policies to combat violence; for carrying out academic research; and for developing awareness and citizen education campaigns. Once the objectives are achieved, an informative booklet will be produced as a final product, containing the main surveys that Observem produced, as an instrument to alert society and as an identifier of the main violence suffered by women during and after the pandemic.
