RESUMO:

In this work, we discuss three linear sequences of the second order: Fibonacci, Lucas and Pell. We show that they can be nested by recurrence, positional formula (Binet's theorem) or matrix form. We explore and demonstrate some properties of these sequences, especially those with similarities between at least two of them. Targeting math teachers, undergraduate or graduate students in mathematics and areas, we applicability of sequences in basic education through contextualized problems which connect these sequences to other mathematical contents. All or problems suggested were designed to stimulate constructive mathematical reasoning and are adaptable to a better pedagogical practice of the teacher.
