Geometric Transformations in the Plan: One proposed activities for high school using GeoGebra
Teaching, Geometric Transformations, GeoGebra, Matrices.
This dissertation aims at the elaboration of a sequence of activities that allows the
study of geometric transformations in high school. These activities were planned and
elaborated so that the teacher can use them in the classroom in classes of the second
year of high school. For this, we started with a study of basic concepts necessary to
understand the main theme, passing through the notion of coordinates in the plane,
vectors and matrices. After that, the definition, some properties and the matrix re-
presentation of the main geometric transformations are presented. Next, we bring the
discussion of some Geogebra tools, especially those most relevant to the development
of the proposed activities. Finally, we present eight proposed activities that make a
connection between geometric transformations and matrix operations using GeoGebra
Software as a resource.
