The present work aims to present the use of concrete materials in mathematics teaching so that the educator and the student have it as a tool in the Teaching-Learning process making the teaching applicable and dynamic. This teaching tool meets the desire of learners to make classes more dynamic and with greater student participation. The use of concrete material develops the student's reasoning, interactivity with other students, stimulating mathematical logical thinking. The interconnection of the abstract to the concrete provides the student with a verification of the theory presented in class, often restricted only to the theoretical part. For the student the teaching brings a greater sense as it is applicable thus making a direct relation of the abstract to the concrete. It is believed that the use of these materials is a strategy for teaching mathematics, as well as facilitating teacher development and student learning, being able to develop significant knowledge in what is taught. The materials Concrete works serve as a mediator in order to facilitate the teacher / student / mathematical knowledge relationship. The use of this pedagogical practice facilitates the use of scientific knowledge applicable to the student's daily life, providing support for the teacher to come to reconcile theory and practice
