RESUMO:

The negative results in exams applied in the area of mathematics show the immense difficulty in
teaching and learning its specific contents. On the other hand, the increasing ease of access to
the internet by students and professors should be highlighted. The present dissertation discusses
educational scripts for the application of the digital domino game in the studies of statistics and
probability, in order to incorporate uncertainty into decision processes. It is suggested a way
that resorts to these tools as an aid in the learning of mathematics in the basic education, in
accordance with the recommendations of the National Curricular Parameter and the National
Common Curriculum from Brazil.

The proposal is to make the marriage between the game, statistics, and probability,
suggesting a themed domino game involving two opponents, each with 14 pieces, using the
contents of descriptive statistics (such as frequency distributions, proportions or fractions of the
types of pieces available to a given player) and probability calculation (such as space sampling,
probabilities of each piece that can be played on each move, and calculations that involve
uncertainty) to try to play a rational game where victory is more likely.

It is assumed, then, that the use of the game with adequate planning, according to the
subjects addressed, can contribute to the act of learning based on a problem decision under
uncertainty. As for the feasibility of applying the approach, it is considered its alignment with
the use of applications for smartphone, personal computer or tablets.
