RESUMO:

One of the major challenges of the classroom math teacher is to the importance of
the study of mathematics, with this objective, the applications of mathematics play a key
role for the student to understand its importance. In this paper, we will describe some
interesting applications of similarity triangles, we will begin by applying mathematics,
for example, to demonstrate Ptolemy's Theorem and the String Theorem, then we will
give some practical applications, between them, how to get the height of buildings and
poles, and how to calculate distance from the earth to the sun using similarity of triangles,
nally we will make a study on similarity of triangles.
