DEVELOPMENT OF ELECTRONIC SPREADSHEETS AUTOMATED
AS A TEACHING RESOURCE FOR THE TEACHING STATISTICS IN HIGH SCHOOL

With the technological advancements of the last decades, society has undergone
profound changes in various sectors, such as communication, leisure, health, and
work, among others. Education is not exempt from this process. Therefore, it is
crucial for teaching methodologies to adapt to this new reality, breaking away from
the traditional teaching model. In the context of mathematics, several applications
are already being used as teaching resources. However, there is no emphasis on
the eld of Statistics. This study aimed to develop automated spreadsheets us-
ing VBA programming language that allow for dynamic and interactive exploration
of the main topics in Statistics taught in high school. The development resulted
in four spreadsheets covering subjects such as frequency tables, graphs, measures
of central tendency and dispersion, and was based on the Statistics curriculum of
the National Common Curricular Base and the Reference Framework for the Na-
tional High School Exam (ENEM). The automated spreadsheets' functionalities were
demonstrated through practical examples of activities that can be conducted in the
classroom.
